  3. Please install QuickTime 3.0 (but keep your old MoviePlayer).  QuickTime 3.0 corrects this problem as well as providing support for wide GIFs, layered Photoshop, progressive JPEG, TIFF, PNG, Targa, and BMP.  Available from <http://www.quicktime.apple.com/>
